Time for Taiwan! (Day 2)

Day 2: May 27, 2012 - Our last day in Taipei.

The main highlight of our 2nd day in Taipei is of course the most famous landmark and building here, the Taipei 101, But before heading straight, we decided to visit the Hello Kitty Cafe.

Unfortunately, there are 2 Hello Kitty Cafe in Taipei. One is inside Pacific Sogo Mall and the other one is across the road from the  Sogo department store. We first take a look at the small stall inside SOGO mall but they are only selling small cakes. So we tried to go to the main Cafe and found out that it was full.

We cannot dine in so we Trina just ordered a take away cake. We just eat our brunch at Tonkatsu. Great meal.

So we are ready to conquer Taipei 101. Taipei 101 is one the tallest buildings in Asia and for a time was considered as the tallest skyscraper in the world. Unfortunately it was drizzling outside so we can see clouds at the top of Taipei 101.

But still, we managed to take pictures outside the building. We also visited the mall inside the building where you could see high-end shops such as Louis Vuitton, Long Champ, etc.

Afterwards, we checked out Guang Hua Digital Plaza, known for selling the cheapeast gadgets, computer-related books, manuals, hardware and software. It is a six-floor market that offers one-stop shopping convenience for all your gadget needs. Whether you're a PC newbie or a major geek, Guanghua Digital Plaza has something for your computing, audio and electronic needs. I guess it is very similar to Virramall of Greenhills in Manila, just bigger. I tell you that it is cheap here. I bought some earphones and travel charger for half price compared to Manila. We just look around then we bought some milk tea afterwards.

So what's next, of course, again we need to go shopping as we are not yet satisifed yesterday. Wufenpu Fashion Area is on our list. If you are looking for a wide range of ready to wear clothes, this place is like a paradise to you. Sure it is not that cheap compared to Bangkok but the whole area is dedicated to shopping  hundreds of wholesale stuff that you will feel so tired looking around. You feel like it is never ending.

Actually I never get tired walking around, but my friends are. And they seem to find no good buys here. I don't know why but maybe because most products are made in Korea and we just came from Korea and we know that it is cheaper there. But still, if you don't care about the price comparison, this place is heaven especially for the ladies.

After resting a bit, we decided to take a quick stop to Shilin Night market again because last night, we were interrupted by a heavy rainfall. We just checked out some stalls around. Then we bought some KFC take away for dinner.

We returned to our hotel to organize our things and pack our bags as we prepare for our 1am flight back to Manila. It is tiring, I mean what we did because of non-stop tour and shop.

Overall, I enjoyed Taiwan but if I come back, I will surely have food trip. I never had any chance to try some street foods (except in Ximending) because we are always eating heavy meals for lunch and dinner.

I also learned that spending weekend out of the country is difficult! I would never do that again. I guess 3 days should really be the least just to feel a little relaxed and to even enjoy exploring the beauty of the place.
