Letters to Juliet

"love has no expiration date.."

If you are a fan of movies about love and destiny, then this may be one you'll like. Letters to Juliet is based on the Nicholas Sparks romance novel which tells a story of a young American girl, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), who travels to the city of Verona, Italy with her fiancĂ© Victor (Gael Garcia Bernal) for the pre-wedding honeymoon. There she finds an unanswered letter to Juliet from 50 years ago. Inspired by the long lost love between Claire (Vanessa Redgrave) and Lorenzo Bartolini (Franco Nero). Sophie joins in the amazing journey of finding Claire’s long lost love, which sets off a series of events unimaginable to them.

I can' t forget the role of Amanda in Chloe but at the end of the movie, I see her adorable side again. I don't like the Charlie (Christopher Egan) which plays as the grandson of Claire. I think he's not the ideal romantic guy suited for the movie and he's acting is just weird for me. The plot is just so unique and touching. I got teary-eyed at some point when they talked about Sophie's lost. Overall, this movie is fun to watch because of the beautiful scenarios of Verona and landscapes of Tuscany. I would certainly recommend this to those who love chick flicks. Still, it is definitely worth the ticket price with a great soundtrack to go together with the love story.

Britney's Telephone

Yeah, glee fever is back! Next week is Britney Spears episode which I think will be better than the pilot episode. I just want to share this video of Britney since it is also included in the first season 2 episode. I still think that Gaga's version is better than Britney but I still like Britney though.. Can't wait for Wednesday..

“…really proud!”

Wow! Season 2 of Glee started last night. Of course, many Filipinos anticipated this moment because of the appearance of Charice. I watched the pilot episode in the gym because I don’t have TV in my new room yet. I was amazed that many people in the gym including the guys watched it.

The first singing scene of Charice in the restroom with Rachel Berry is fantastic! She almost overshadowed Rachel. And the last part when Charice auditioned with “Listen” is unbelievable. Goosebumps all over my skin. Wow. What can I say, I hope Charice would really blossom here in Glee. All I can feel is that I am really proud to be a Filipino. But my favorite in Glee is still Kurt..

Tiago Splitter!

The NBA season is right around the corner, which means a new batch of rookies is ready to be unveiled. I just think that John Wall will win the ROY but I guess Tiago Splitter will be a contender. I've been watching him play in Brazil and he really is amazing inside the paint. I guess Pop should use him often so he'll learn from Tim Duncan too. On side note, I think he looks like Ashton Kutcher and Kyle Korver..

Tiago Splitter was drafted by the Spurs in 2007 with pick #28 (first round). Through a number of situations, Tiago and the Spurs decided it might have been best to allow him to develop overseas before he joined the NBA. When the Spurs drafted him, in the ACB he averaged 10.7 points, 6 rebounds in 29 minutes. During the 2009-2010 season, Tiago averaged 15.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, in the same amount of time of 29 minutes. He improved by 5 points and nearly 1 rebound.

I really enjoyed watching him in FIBA just like Rubio so I guess we'll have to see what they can bring in the NBA. I guess he is so ready to compete this time around.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Teaser Trailer

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is an upcoming 3-D fantasy action-adventure film. It is the fourth film in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, distributed by Walt Disney Pictures and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The film was first announced in September 2008, and principal photography started in June 2010. Unlike the previous films, which were shot primarily on location in the Caribbean, On Stranger Tides had most of its production in Hawaii.

The plot draws inspiration from the novel On Stranger Tides by Tim Powers, with Captain Jack Sparrow, again played by Johnny Depp, searching for the Fountain of Youth and confronting the pirate Blackbeard. It is also first in the series to be directed by Rob Marshall and not Gore Verbinski.

The film is set to be released on May 20, 2011 in Disney Digital 3-D and IMAX 3-D, as well as in traditional two-dimensional and IMAX formats. It will be the first Pirates of the Caribbean film to be released in 3-D and Jerry Bruckheimer's second 3-D film, following the 2009 film G-Force.

I super can't wait!!!

Viva Rafa!!!

RAFAEL NADAL IS KING OF THE HILL, TOP OF THE LIST, "A",
NUMBER ONE IN OLD NEW YORK ~ NEW YORK, NEW YORK

I can't say anything. At 24, he won a career gland slam. Whew.
Rafa's really amazing.. (and hot!)..Way to go Rafa!

Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming

Any sequel of a movie will always be compared to the first one. I can say that the FIRST movie is still the best - the story, the dance, and the emotional impact. I think this movie is in desperate need of a sense of humor. There’s a few witty jokes sprinkled throughout the movie but what it really needed was to not take itself quite so seriously. The characters here are great especially tWitch. DJ's (Columbus Short) appearance in the movie as "the legend" of TNT added a slight impact when he had the inpirational message at the end when everything seems to be ruined. I didn't quite like the scipt overall because it's very predictable but when Chance’s step team performs their final dance dressed as rejects from Mortal Kombat - that’s pretty special.. goosebumps all over! Of course, Explosions in the Sky's music will always add the intangibles. I didn't see the brilliance of Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming compared to the first one. I guess they didn't focus much on the dance routine and they highlighted more of the melodramatic plot. But still, it is worth watching for me. Just don't expect a lot of amazing crazy moves! My thought on the movie was that it was overall pretty good. I think it's a three out of five stars.

2010 FIBA World Basketball Championships

Watching FIBA is not healthy for me - staying up late isn't fun but the 2010 World Championships were extremely entertaining and competitive. Kevin Durant is a beast - winning tournament MVP - really showed the world the calibre of player he is, scoring at will but also showing a tenacity on defense. I'm afraid he will develop and improve more on his scoring, defense, overall versatility and ability to facilitate on the offensive end - beware Kobe. Luis Scola, Linas Kleiza, and Milos Teodosic also made their team on the hunt for Gold. Congratulations to my Laker Odom who is a big key to US win over Turkey. All 15 of Odom’s points and eight of his rebounds came in the second half, and he scored nine of his team’s first 13 points to open the fourth quarter, helping to keep Turkey from getting back into the contest. Well done US Team!

Top Moments in HSBC..so far! >>

>>Pinoy Big Special (Dec 2005)

I’m still a newbie in the bank but my teammates trusted me to do the official artwork of Special Team with Christmas theme. During this time, the Pinoy Big Brother is a hit so I created the Pinoy Big Special theme. Sounds corny huh? I like the tarpouline though.

>>HSBC Xmas Party (Dec 16, 2005)

Wow! Really amazing night! This is the first time that the Blue Team won the Christmas Party. I cannot explain the feeling but this is very memorable.

>>Special Team in La Luz (Mar 2006)

This is my first teambuilding with Special Team. I love the beach because of the delicious buffet food which I sometimes crave especially the turon. In all of our teambuildings, I guess this is just the time when I spent most of the night outside the room. I can remember that it is 3:00am and we are still in the Cabana just trying to sleep already. Overall, this is fun but not the best one.

>>Special Team in Astoria (July 8, 2006)

Nikki’s cribs, Brian & Ian’s hardest thing, Jojo’s coming out of the closet - literally, Vjoy’s very quiet night – it is the best overnight stay for me. How I wish we can do this again..

>>The 9:00-10:00 Overtime Club (2006)

Yeah, it’s overtime but I consider this as one of the best times in HSBC. Marvin and Dyoy are my best buddies during these days. I don’t know how I survived the overtime since I go home in Bulacan everyday. Maybe that’s why I got a lot of pimples. Because of joining this club, I saved a lot of money!!!

>> Fontana (Aug 5, 2006)

While I am busy doing the official video that Abi asked me to do, I also had the chance to participate in our team’s dance and costume show. I enjoyed this day but the most enjoyable part is the overnight. Fontana is really a nice place to relax with friends!

>>CCR Xmas Party @ Greenmeadows (Dec 8, 2006)

This is my first time to make choreography for Special Team. Unfortunately, I got very sick two days prior to the event so somebody filled in for me. I believe our theme is Dance Revolution so we chose songs like Thriller, Macarena, Crazy in Love, and our finale Doo Bi Doo. Even though we didn’t win, I still enjoyed the night maybe because I won the Php1000 Ayala GC and the major prize, Next Base DVD which my brother is currently using in his room.

>>Canyon Woods (Oct 6, 2007)

>>CAO & CCR Xmas Party Duets (Dec 7, 2007)

Jed and I sang “Can this be love” but our original song is “Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin. I really can’t imagine doing this again but I really had fun because many supported me even if they belong to other teams. Lito & Mayan is arguably the best entertainer here. Until now, I still laugh at their performance. We won third place and the “Young Love Sweet Love” award.

>>My 23rd Birthday in HSBC (Sept 5, 2008)

I felt like a debutante on this day. By the way, I am not in the mood during the day because of Jed’s planned thing for me. He didn’t greet me and he snobbed me but before lunch, I received a gift and card from him that really made it all clear. After lunch, the guys started giving me roses one by one while saying famous movie lines. In the afternoon, the boys sang “Kunin mo na ang lahat sa akin” and Mark did his remarkable “Bailamos” move. Before the day ends, most of CAO people watched the Top 3 – Mark, Jed, and Harvey do their thing for me. It is really blockbuster. What can I say, so far, it is undeniably the best birthday ever in HSBC!

>>For the first time Shooting (Nov 2008)

How could I forget this moment? I am the scriptwriter, director, camerawoman, and editor. Well, I guess it is better than doing the acting. I really don’t like the movie because of KC Concepcion but I need to watch the film many times so we could re-enact the scenes. Mark, Trina, Brylle, Kat, Marvin are the main characters and they are absolutely incredible especially Mark. This is by the way our entry to the first CCO Movie Awards but Back-End’s team won the Best Picture which is really good. Overall, the shooting days are unforgettable. We really bonded as a team.

>>Special Team Xmas Party @ Penhurst Place (Dec 18, 2008)

I consider this as one of the top moments in HSBC because of the things that happened during the day itself. Even though I spent just a little time in the event, I guess I had the most out of it.

>>Special Team in Crystal Beach (Mar 27-28, 2009)

For me, this is the best teambuilding I went to. I really felt the camaraderie and the bonding the team. Maybe one factor is the dance competition we had. Dance Evolution is our theme. Who can forget Team Aguila, Genio, and Mek Mek? Also, the night is filled of fun memories including Louie’s exorcism and Tin’s unforgettable moment. In my case, I really didn’t drink a lot and spent most of time listening to others stories.

>>Ronald's Bachelor's party (Aug 14, 2009)

We danced Calle Ocho and Nobody but since many non-special peeps watched the performance, we really became shy but still we this is very fun moment. I guess Brylle and Tin had their shining moment here.

>>Ian's last day in CAO (Nov 27, 2009)

We danced "Down" with matching black and white theme attire. I miss Ian. For me, he is the best boss ever!!!

>>HSBC Live Season 3 (June 4, 2010)

Of course, I am very proud of being a part of the Champion team! I don’t know if anyone could ever forget what we did but I guess, it’s just one thing that you will to remember and show to your children or grand children in the future. But I don’t think that I will do this ever again. This is my first time to join HSBC Live and I’m really amazed with Joe. I think she is like superwoman because she did the choreo, the logistics, the editing, etc. but I guess it is her passion so she deserves the award.

>>AC's Despedida in CAO (Aug 27, 2010)

It is amazing that we got to perform for our Boss AC’s last day in CAO. We danced Baby & Do you remember because I know some steps that I got from the gym. I’m sure my retro instructor would be very happy to see us here (or not?).. I also made a simple video for her and she was really surprised. I will her being strict to us.

>>Petiks time (2005-2010)

Of course, it is not always work work work! Obviously, I love taking pictures of special moments especially during the times when work is manageable. We even have pictorial sessions before in Ortigas during lunch time. Oh goh I really miss those days.

>>My Last day in iHub (Sept 9, 2010)

After almost eight months working in HSBC iHub Alabang, I will finally return to the Fort but it means that I am gonna leave my Special Team and friends. Well, it’s really mixed emotions. On this day, my teammates and friends prepared something for me. First, they gave me flowers then they did harana for me, and of course, the very funny video of Mark, Vj, and Edward for me which I really appreciate the most. I knew they will do a video for me because they borrowed my laptop but I am still surprised because I didn’t expect that they will do that for me. I mean staying awake until 3am. I guess that fact will always leave a mark in me. It showed how special I am for them. I have no words but thanks to my team and my friends who made my last day truly memorable and special.
