When you’re sitting there staring into space or doing whatever it is that you’re doing, and all of a sudden you start smiling. That smile slowly becomes wider and bigger. You would just sit there for however long until you catch yourself smiling. Then you would try to think back to what you were doing or to what was running through your head during that moment.. but that thought - that fleeting memory slipped right out of your head once you realized that blissful smile on your face. And you would sit there amazed, wanting to smile again, but you can’t.. and you don’t know why..

To me, those moments are the best.

Emptiness Behind

Being turned inside out is almost the only way to describe it.

An ice cold sting that starts in your legs, making you numb, and crawling through your veins, getting in your nerves up, up, up into your heart. When it gets there, it feels as though the only hope you ever had is gone.

Disappeared. Extinguished, like a candle.

Perhaps, the worst part is that it comes without a warning. One moment, you’re perfectly content, and the next, you feel as though you’ve been shot. BANG!

If you’ve been there, you know the feeling.

That awful emptiness that settles just behind your ribcage, a constant reminder that you have no emotion left to give to the world. “Take it, it’s yours.” Your fight is over.. you have no strength left to donate to your own cause.

You start to imagine your pain filling up the pages of a notebook. One can’t write without having lived, and feeling the absence of living is bound to count for something.

But dwelling on it simply won’t do.

No, you have to pull yourself up from the pillows, wipe the tears from your swollen cheeks, and start writing. Creating. Channeling your aching into art.

Because without pain, what good is art?

I'm not excited since I already saw him twice already but still.. this experience is gonna be priceless.

June 2011 – Nike Philippines announced today that Kobe Bryant will return to Manila for the third time on July 13, 2011 to kick off his five-city tour. Manila will be his first stop before moving on to Seoul and various cities in China.

“Nike is proud to bring Kobe Bryant back to Manila. In his last two visits, Kobe was able to connect with a lot of young Filipino athletes, encouraging them to fulfill their dreams through sport like he did,” said Nike Philippines Country Marketing Manager, Mae Dichupa. “As part of our commitment to basketball and young Filipino athletes, Nike continuously develops campaigns that will encourage them to reach for their sports dreams. Kobe’s visit is a testament to this. Though very brief, his one-day visit will definitely inspire Filipino athletes who look up to him.”

As early as three, Kobe Bryant already knew that he wanted to become a basketball player. He grew up continually honing his skills and practicing drills which helped in his rise as a basketball superstar. In 1996, he was drafted in the professional league and has since gotten five championship rings with his team, an MVP Award and received 4 All-Star MVP Awards. Kobe unabashedly seizes every opportunity to improve his game – and grabs every single reward that comes with them. Taking inspiration from Kobe’s passion and dedication, his tour is designed to lead young hoopsters down the path to greatness.

Kobe’s one-day visit will begin with a short show at Nike Park, The Fort at 3:00 PM. The main event will be at Araneta Coliseum at 5:00 PM featuring players from Nike-sponsored FEU Tamaraws, DLSU Green Archers, ADMU Blue Eagles and Smart Gilas Pilipinas. Kobe will teach these young athletes on how to better improve their skills for the coming basketball season.

Morning Glory

I know that this movie is the same of Devil Wears Prada. But I didn’t expect much from this because.. just because..Guess what? It turns out to be another hit to me.

I got so pulled in with every scene and what was going to happen to Becky.

I loved the entire cast. Diane Keaton and Harrison Ford played their role well.

Of course, Rachel McAdams just reminded me of Jennifer Garner. I love her in this film.

I loved the soundtrack especially Natasha Bedingfield’s “Strip Me” and Colin Hay’s “Waiting for my real life to begin”..

I laughed so much. You can see me clapping my hands, stomping my feet. Gosh I’m just happy.

The plot revolves around a fidgety TV producer Becky trying to revitalize a dying morning show – Daybreak. She goes about this by 1) hiring an old crow in the person of decorated reporter Mike (Ford) and 2) switching the lineup from lame to crass entertainment to increase the ratings. Well, Morning Glory is really amusing and entertaining. It’s actually more of comedy than a romcom or a satire. Whatever it is, I’m sure every working girl would love this - truly inspiring and feel good movie.

But don’t expect it to be on top of Devil Wears Prada.

PS. I'm not saying the word fluffy! - this part is hilarious!

Indescribable Feeling

Too often I wonder, “Will I ever know your secret?”

Then, the unexpected moment happened - a secret revealed.

I felt something I never felt before.

It’s a weird feeling - Teary-eye, chills, and an endless smile – how can it happen?

I guess I am just deeply touched.

Yes I was surprised.

I will forever be grateful for his significant contributions to the Lakers.
